After giving Chaya a new faceup, I am happy to report everything I've gotten for her has worked well. I love how she look in this outfit. The white under dress is from the Souldoll outfit she came with. It is surprisingly good for this.

Lastly, a group photo.
It is hard! My living room which is the one that gets the most light, but it is actually a very small space. So while the smaller dolls are able to be in there have photos taken and not looking too bad. It is harder for the bigger dolls.... especially when there are more than one. The messy background sometimes do show up. .-.
So no big group photo, just the three of them is quite enough.

Chaya's arrival

The search for Chaya was HARD.
Originally I waned to get a taller girl... probably at least 65cm tall with more girth to be with Misere. In the end, when no perfect option presented itself, I went with the first girl doll I really really liked: Souldoll Shiva.

The wait was longer than I'd like... but that is mostly because I want my new toys!
A week ago Souldoll emailed me and told me by mistake, she was given the default faceup, if it is okay I can accept her, then they can ship her right away.

Welp. I had planned to do a faceup for her, but I haven't settled on a solid idea yet and I did not feel like waiting another 3 weeks at least for a blank head.... and Shiva's default faceup is nice. So... what the hay!

It is a gloomy day here in Raincity as usual. I am home sick.
The mail truck did not show up till 2, at that point I was getting tired of staring out the window.

Guess who is here...

This is the first and hopefully the last time I get tempted by a doll I paint.
I blame it on FairEmma. She sent an AE Xun to me last year in the summer for a faceup. I knew about Asleep Eidolon as a company at the time but never quite had a look at their dolls.
Xun arrived with his default faceup which was gorgeous.... I had to tweak something with his lips and thoroughly enjoyed working with him.

Then I looked.
And looked. And looked. And ordered a head (which has not arrived).
And during that time ordered Chaya.
Then realize there is a Xun in stock in Mint on Card.
I think the one thing that really turned people off from AE is the wait time. It is insanely long. Even though their dolls are really quite gorgeous I think people just aren't willing to wait especially most companies are able to turn dolls around faster. I am not sure if it is a dealer issue or manufacturing issue.

Xun is one of them very Asian sculpts. And I knew he'd be perfect for a character.

Since I've grown Misere up and fill in a bit more of his backstory I knew that Hime and him share a deep bond.(in order to not explain anything think of Hime as a spiritual guide) but Hime being a little teenie gem makes it hard to convey the sorta bond without looking wrong.... so... Hime has to be grown up.

So grown up she did.
Now let's make it clear. Hime is a girl. Was a girl. Has been a girl for hundreds of years.
But ..... I don't think gender really holds a place in her heart anymore. She has been alive long enough to see it is but a word, a way you are supposed to live your life. Hime isn't even human and hence not bound by this crap. Hime was in girl form because she shared some of Shion's life when taking form prematurely from her sleep....
Grown up Hime chooses to be gender neutral.
So he, she, both pronouns will apply and I will use them interchangeably.

It has been three years since Tomato come to live with me.
I am sure I told this story many-a-times. Tomato came to me three years ago when my house was flooded from the bitter winter. I was forced out of my house to live in a hotel. It was BORING and stressful to have nothing you like to do to do, but lots of dealing with insurance agencies. Her arrival sorta gave me a welcomed distraction from all the stress I was having at the time. Hence, she is the special girl!

Her appearance has changed many times since her initial arrival.

As have a lot of things in my life.

The one constant thing is that Tomato is super adorable and is still the favourite in this household!!! :>:>
